Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Music (French Horn) and a Bachelor of Teaching (Honours) from the University of Melbourne, as well as an Associate of Music, Australia (Horn) from the Australian Music Examinations Board. In 2024 she completed an MA in Additional and Special Needs, specialising in Dyslexia, Inclusion, Autism and Exceptionally Able Learners.

Her passion for conducting began in secondary school and was strengthened through the Australian Choral Conductors Education and Training qualification in 2000 and further studies at the University of Melbourne from 1997-2001 with Professor John Hopkins and Benjamin Northey.

While living in the UK, Lindsay undertook conducting workshops at the Royal Northern College of Music with Sir Mark Elder, Mark Heron and Timothy Reynish, and at the Royal College of Music with Toby Purser and Peter Stark. She also participated in international masterclasses with Lior Shambadal and Romolo Gessi in Vicenza (Italy) and Weiz (Austria), and pursued private study with Adrian Brown and Sian Edwards (Royal Academy of Music).

In London, she founded Harmony Sinfonia, a symphony orchestra known for its community outreach, support of emerging conductors, and commitment to performing works by lesser‑known and women composers. The ensemble was praised by the president of the Bruckner Society, embraced by its local community and supported by charitable trusts including the Diana Ambache Foundation.

Her UK experience also included roles as Associate Conductor of Stoneleigh Youth Orchestra, Assistant Conductor of Dulwich Symphony Orchestra and Musical Director of the London Classical Consort, alongside extensive freelance work as a conductor and horn player.

Lindsay has established numerous school-based ensembles, enabling young people to engage in creative music-making across choirs, bands, orchestras and world music groups. She has facilitated performances at major venues including the Royal Albert Hall for the Music for Youth Proms (2021), the Churchill Theatre, Fairfield Halls and the O2 Arena as part of Young Voices.

Community engagement remains central to her work, exemplified by Harmony Sinfonia’s orchestral workshops with local schoolchildren in 2015 and 2016. In 2017 she founded and developed a thriving concert band program at a primary school in Surrey, providing high‑quality instrumental instruction to more than 100 children and culminating in performances both locally and at the Music for Youth Prom at the Royal Albert Hall.

Since returning to Melbourne, Lindsay has worked with ensembles including the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Youth Orchestras, Camerata Melbourne, Perth Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Discovery Orchestra.

She has contributed to curriculum development for junior music programs, established a massed school choir to accompany her symphonic arrangements of We Are Australian and You're the Voice at Monash University, and served as a guest conductor and clinician for secondary students.

Lindsay continues to expand her artistic and educational impact through the creation and delivery of conducting workshops for music educators. In 2026 she will conduct the Stonnington Symphony Orchestra and present at the ANBOC conference in Sydney and has recently established the Melbourne Concert Collective—an innovative and responsive ensemble dedicated to dynamic, collaborative performance.
