I had the pleasure of working with the incredible Lindsay Ryan as a soloist performing the challenging and captivating 'Horn Concerto' by Ruth Gipps.

I’ve been lucky enough to work with Lindsay over several years as assistant conductor to her orchestra Harmony Sinfonia.


At every point, she was supportive and inspiring, providing feedback and (gentle!) constructive criticism.


Lindsay always made time for me (including half an hour before a concert once when I was panicking about transitions) and always made me feel like no question was silly. I have always felt encouraged by her to try new techniques and expand my skills, and the whole experience has been a wonderful one.

Lindsay was my French horn teacher for 3 years.  I was nearly going to give up the horn before she became my teacher but now I want to be the best player possible.  


She has made me love playing the horn and I looked forward to my lessons every week.  I have completed three grades in that time and successfully auditioned for the NCO.  


It is through my passion for playing that I am now going to, start at the Guildhall school of music on Saturdays but hope to continue playing with Lindsay through concerts.  As a teacher she is passionate, patient, extremely knowledgable and kind.  I have learnt so much from her and cannot recommend her highly enough.
